Daytrip has potential as a pub map, but i dont think it fits the 6v6 format unless major changes are done

Logjam 2nd has been "flattened" and lowered but the only match i got to play was with people who never played any version of logjam before so i cant give solid feedback

Granary RC5 is nice. The opening in garage makes that part infinitelly less chokey. Making holes on walls might be what that map needed all along.

have you guys thought about testing edifice and sandstone pro? I know that they were played in the preseason cup for etf2l, but the NA folks haven't had much of a chance to play those in an organize setting. people have also been asking for gpit/3cp

Call me biased - but I think either mapchamp should be split into 2 styles or be changed for the sake of better feedback.

It seems to me that the alpha/early beta maps get a lot of feedback, as they are early in dev cycle. Some things are blatantly problems, or just seem wrong - these maps are easy to give feedback for, and you could have a day where you run just these maps and lots of them as is current.

I've noticed that bagel/logjam/cardinal don't seem to get much feedback post mapchamp, as they're further along in the cycle, and it might take more time to make the nuanced feedback that they require. Either that or people don't want to give us feedback or whatever.

It might be smarter to have a "very new" maps day and a "up-and-coming" maps day; one with lots of alpha ish maps and one with a few maps further along. Or perhaps limit the amount of maps in the pool. I played 4-5 games of mapchamp and didn't play cardinal or logjam the entire time.

Could it be an option to just add one or two of these maps(like Bagel/Cardinal/Logjam) at a time to regular pugchamp and mixchamp for a few weeks? You could even add map1, leave it in for three weeks and then remove map1 and add map2. Then add back map1 and remove map2 when map1 receives its next update and keep doing that until the maps are ready for league play. Then you can use mapchamp as a feeder for that system or even to test an update to a map before adding it back into mix- and pugchamp rotation.

I think this is honestly a really good option overall. I'd say start with cp_logjam but I'm biased as all hell. :P.

Rationally I think whichever map gets the best response from the cup but still needs some tweaks should get put in for further testing.

Hi all,

Due to me not getting to a computer until tomorrow, MapChamp Week 4 may be delayed to tomorrow afternoon (sorry euros) or to next week.

There will be the odd week that I am away and this is one of them. Since the new map cup is happening I also figure that most people have had their fill of new maps.

This will also give time to the map makers to make some changes and we can test them out next week.

This week's rotation is:

cp_cardinal_b2
cp_drudgery_b1_fixa
cp_logjam_rc4
koth_warmfront_a11

EU is now live with the changes and NA will be live later this evening/early tomorrow morning.

i think the smaller pool is to help more people play games on all of the maps, instead of just a few

please don't include drudgery for the forseeable future, it should be at least another week before I get out a new version, I think I have enough to work on for now, so I would prefer it if other upcoming maps got their chances :)

Week 5 has 5 maps!

This weeks maps are koth_bagel_rc2, cp_cardinal_b2, cp_logjam_rc4, cp_kalinka_b3 and pl_tapline_b1.

We are going to have to go on a hunt for possible comp maps on tf2maps and see if we can find a new new map to bring on one of these weeks.

Bad news: My computer is still potato.

Good news: We have a new map this week! I am still waiting patiently for map makers to update their maps from the new map cup feedback but since we have gone 2 weeks without a new map week, we will just play more bagel.

Week 6 Maps are:
Bagel, Cardinal, Kalinka, Logjam, Avalanche

Eu and Na servers are now active with the new rotation.

Right on. Thanks for doing this, as always.

I'm presently waiting to hear more about the current version of logjam. If I recall there's a few minor streamlining things desired and the only larger gripe is pushing into last but I've only heard that from one person and while it might be true I won't make a change without a little more support (see logjam's time in ETF2L).

Seems like it's broken. Everyone readies up, but once the draft starts it keeps aborting due to an internal error.

I'm unsure where to post this, but if you guys are looking for other ideas for Sunday experimental things in mixchamp is there any way we could try out these whitelists people are all excited about? Namely banning the xbow.
