I"m Shadeless, I'm a little shy of 700 hours and I would like to play Roamer, but obviously I'm new and I've heard this is a good spot to look for teams. I would just like to improve over all and become more of a team player while also getting some comp experience under my belt. I have no idea what level I play at, all I know is that I am New and I think Open, but again I'm new to this.Let me know if there is anything I can improve upon in this thread or if my title is misleading. Thanks,
-Shadeless

Hey man, welcome to competitive! This is indeed a place where you can look for a team, but keep in mind that this recruitment forum is for a paid league that generally has more dedicated players and a higher average skill as a result. That's not to say you are not welcome to play here or throw your hat into the ring! Just keep in mind that if you do choose to play your first season in ESEA it will be a very challenging season where you will likely make a lot of mistakes, lose a lot, but also improve tremendously in the process.

Some things you can add in your post is what sort of experience you have (even if it just watching a lot of guides or playing some newbie mixes...) and what nights you are available to practice with your team (generally this will be in the evenings between 8:30-11:30 EST, depending on what your team prefers).

There is another league that also does 6s called UGC, it's free and generally has a lower skill average and more new players because it's free. Their recruitment section is here - but again, the choice is yours, you're perfectly fine looking for a team here as well.

Ok, thank you very much. I didn't know this was a paid forums. So thank you very much for the insight and I will keep that in mind. Also I might or might not play here, but do you have any tips for a newb who has never played any sort of comp event before? If so, what do you recommend is the first step in the right direction?

I'll leave most of the advice to Mallory / others, but just to clarify- this is a totally free forum, and isn't specifically dedicated to ESEA, the paid tf2 league. It's a forum for competitive TF2 in general, and all are welcome to read and comment :) This is just the main forum people who play ESEA TF2 communicate on (non-esea players do too!), and it's a great community to be involved in! Good luck in your search for a team and I hope you have a lot of fun playing competitive TF2.

Thank you and I know that you have to pay to play (oh the irony) in the ESEA. I'm just looking for a team and if I need to pay thats fine too.

Okay so tell me if I got this right. Find a team, join their roster, THEN pay for your league fees? Is that right?
