Getting around only 80-110 fps in overwatch with my PC, is it normal? it's kind of making getting a 144hz monitor not worth it.

PC specs:
i5-4460
16gb ram
asus b85m-gamer
rx 480
550 watts power supply

thanks.

i5-3450, geforce GTX 650 ti. In-game settings all low, 75% render scale. Rarely getting above 120 fps, can drop to like 70 during fights.

ScrewballThat's not normal at those settings.

how do i fix it

also I'm running 2 monitors, could that also be a reason for the low fps.

i have two monitors and worse specs than you and I still get ~150 fps

make sure your windows update service isn't taking all your cpu cycles that happened to me a while ago and I was tearing my hair out trying to work out why I was dropping to 90 frames

Make sure you've got clutter like Discord and Steam closed. Discord in particular makes me lose frames. I'd suggest trying to play the game at a lower resolution, though idk what to say to shoras. Other than that I mean yea just keep trying things. Unplug your second monitor, double check your task manager, click on that porn site ad for a 25% speed boost.

you should try going to resource monitor and putting overwatch in high priority, also this might sound pretty stupid but try setting everything to max and see if you get more fps

everything maxed gives 40fps in practice range

Why are you hijacking this thread?
You have a completely different problem in a completely different game, which is most likely not even hardware related.

Bumping this thread (instead of creating a new one) because I found another issue with the game. My mouse stutters whenever I do a really quick flick. My crosshair stops moving for a brief moment when doing this which results in it moving like half of the distance it should. I believe this might be connecteng with low FPS, but I haven't managed to find a solution yet.

Well actually I don't really know if it's a different game because you didn't specify that at all.

We're talking about OW in this thread, aren't we? I am at least.

That's great. It's still a completely different problem.
I have no idea how many fps you're getting and I have no idea of those fps are too low for your hardware, which is the original question in this thread, because you haven't even told me what hardware you're using.

So far all you've told me is essentially "no work, pls fix".

This really isn't the same problem and new threads are free.

Ah yes, I'm not going to reread the whole thread.
I thought that was a comparision post, fps seem normal.

Maybe your mouse is shit and reaching its maximum tracking speed?

i5-3450 and a R9 270
Everything medium 100% render scale and I'm at 153 constant.

I got higher constant FPS when going from 1 > 2GB vram

No issues anywhere outside OW.

Yes, we've already established that his fps are normal. The difference between medium and low is only 10% and the 270 is a lot faster.

sorry for necroing the thread but when i turn down the render scale in overwatch the fps DOES NOT change at all, it stays at around 230 inside practice range when I'm using 50% or 100%.

also the problem of the low fps persists,~100 in an actual match, 50% gpu usage while cpu goes up to 98%
settings are all low,100% render scale
specs are still the same
i also have rainmeter running, could that be the reason?
