Lord of the flies and the Alchemist. lotf was such a slow and boring book our teacher decided never to use it again lmao. The Alchemist, however was an extremely amazing book, would recommend it to anyone whos at a point in their life where they need to make a huge life decision and don't know how

1984, Brave New World, Animal Farm, Things Fall Apart are all books I've had to read in my english classes.
edit: i liked 1984 because i like stuff about dystopias and animal farm because it was just interesting to read about animals talking and stuff without it being a kids book.

Ender's Game, Ender in Exile, Speaker For the Dead. Speaker For the Dead is incredible, and you don't need to read the other two if you don't want to, it can stand alone.

Books I read on my own were probably But Beautiful, a book about jazz, and Devil in the White City, a book about the Chicago World's Fair and the serial killer who operated during it.

Favorite curriculum books were Hamlet, if that counts as a book, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, and Paradise Lost. Although The Hill Road was a great short story collection.

Lord of the Flies is a super boring book until the last quarter where shit gets ramped up to 11 real quick and the kids...

Show Content
...go all savage, start hallucinating, and killing each other

To Kill a Mocking Bird is pretty good, plus I had a buddy write an essay about how Boo Radley is secretly gay, and how the whole book is a metaphor for him coming out of the closest. I think he got a decent mark from it too because he backed it up pretty well.

Everything by Shakespeare was long, boring, and confusing, but Midsummer Night's Dream was by far the worst.
