Currently the prize is only FACEIT points, as this is not a sponsored cup. The first cup was sponsored by MarketPlace.TF, who provided the keys to the prize pool. I'm currently looking for third party sponsors and additional prizes to offer.

Are you able to change the regions rules so it allows eu players to que up without having to change the region area of their account and risking getting disqualified. This would allow for a bigger Que size and allows for people to enter in both the weekly cups.

This was allowed before in the Open Tournament where it said

Open tournament1 - Regions
This Tournament is hosted on Chicago servers only, you may participate in this tournament regardless of your region, however this means you are accepting any connection issues or lag on the server.

but atm it says

Weekly tournaments1 - Regions
Players from are forbidden to participate in a cup that is in a different region than their own.
If you are found playing in a different region you will be disqualified from the tournament. If you are not located in any of the above mentioned regions you must have at least three players on your team from the region the event is being hosted in.

Is it actually preventing you from signing up? I believe there was an EU mix in the last cup. If it's not automatically enforced, I know I don't plan on enforcing it, so feel free to sign up (I can't actually change the wording of that rule).

It just requires you to change the region to US and since it takes 2 days to change back it is pretty inconvenient and restricts queing up in our normal que. But if you are not able to change it i guess that is fine aswell.

So is there no EU cup this week? Not as if i'm complaining, it'd be pretty understandable seeming how last week was just Se7en beating up open teams.

this isn't necessarily true. last week i was playing with europeans who wanted to play in the eu cup, so i changed my region to eu so that we could all party together. as an entirely eu-regioned party we were able to add to the us cup. i wasn't aware of this breaking any rules but it let us play so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ah, it's just not been added to the tftv schedule.

There are some internal things going on with the organizers and the eu event might not happen.

Hey guys, this cup is happening today in just over 3 hours from now. Grab some friends and party up or just solo queue, I'd really appreciate it. Keep in mind the first round is only a bo1 and its single elim so if you think about it, you could just play one game and then be off the hook, but you'd have helped out a lot!

If you're planning on playing please sign up ASAP on faceit or PM me if you can't sign up yet; I need to see if we will have enough teams to warrant a stream.

tbh tambo and his team exemplify what not to do when you are getting destroyed. It's really awkward listening to the casters trying to come up some way to reason their strategies. If some one new to tf2 was watching this, they probably wouldn't consider playing faceit. If a potential sponsor saw www spamming their shitty binds every time they killed b4nny, it would make an impact on their view of the game.

For this cup we did bo3's for both the semi finals and the grand finals, but I think that only the grand final should be a bo3 in a cup like this which is meant to be resolved quickly. What do you guys think?

Also, I am likely going to try to frame the next cup as a "solo queue cup" where we try to encourage everyone to solo queue rather than create pug teams and see how that goes. I think it might help to improve the experience of a lot of newer and lower level players.
