Charter Internet in SoCal

Does anyone in SoCal have Charter internet? I wanted to know if it's any good. I am getting it installed soon and want to know what to expect. I believe I will have 30 down and 4 up. I have played on 100+ ping for years and was wondering how much of a difference playing on normal ping will be like. Is it hard to adjust to low ping like it is to adjust to high ping?

I get 25 ping to west coast servers, 60 ping to Dallas, and about 80 to east coast servers with the same charter package you're getting. Adjusting to a lower ping isn't hard.

It's less about the speeds and more to do with shitty routing.

SoCal Time Warner customer here. It is AWFUL. I get 70+ and will often play at 90+ ping to Chicago if other people are using the internet. Save yourself.

bublshifty1gim in nor cal w/ charter and my routing suxthey have charter in norcal??

Basically, everything cable is determined by "territory" which isn't actually competitive in actuality. Certain companies get areas in order to ensure nobody gains a monopoly on a larger area. Now, the larger telecommunications companies don't have that problem, since the vast majority of them have cell tower and the like that allow them to provide for significantly larger areas (this includes satellite internet and all that garbage) since areas are generally safer with them around.
For instance, within 3 blocks of my house there's charter internet available, at my house, the local telecommunications company is the only option. This is party due to expense of the wires to get it to areas, but most to avoid monopolization.
So yes, some of NorCal will have certain companies, others will not.

kb30 down and 4 up

I have like 4 down and .7 up and I get like 30 to 60 ping most servers, your down/up doesn't mean too much on your ping.
