I've been having some strange stuff happening with my desktop for the past few weeks. My computer wont let me click on anything or let me type in my browser. The only way I am able to click on stuff or type is after I use CTRL ALT DEL to open task manager then close it. After I close task manager I am able to click on stuff again for about 15-20 seconds then I wont be able to do anything again. Im thinking it is a virus because my laptop started having this problem after I used my flash drive and external hard drive to transfer some stuff. Any suggestions on how to fix this if it is a virus? Could it possibly be a mouse problem?

I highly recommend installing spybot-search and destroy, and running a full system scan, then fixing and immunizing. Spybot isn't like AVG or Norton, you can trust it. http://download.cnet.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html

If you have a spare thumb drive I recommend creating your own Hiren's Boot-CDStick.

You can get the ISO here.

This image basically lets you boot into a Mini XP (I really only use this, there is also some sort of linux to work with) where you have access to a buttload of tools. (For a full list see this.) It's basically a Medkit for your PC if we're talking TF2 terms. :P

To put the ISO on your USB-drive and actually make it boot I recommend Rufus.

Not sure if you want to go through this, but I personally like having one of those at hand. Hope it helps!

i've had this time from time, primarily seems to happen after I alt-f4 out of a game. It doesn't happen nearly as common as you're describing though.
