Steampipe (maybe) related problem

My tf2 is crashing before reaching the main menu. It launches, then I see the map image, wait some time and after that it just crashes and it goes back to my desktop. I think I know what the problem is, but I can't solve it. Basically, because of Steampipe I made a backup of my cfg and because I wanted to change HUD, I didn't do anything to it. I launched TF2 and it was the default HUD, so I quit the game and changed it to the HUD I wanted. Up until that point I was reading a guide on ETF2L on how to prepare for Steampipe and I misread a part where it said to put all of the custom stuff in a folder that was called custom, instead I put all of the HUD stuff in the /tf/ folder that is inside the /common/. Because I realized that what I did was wrong I then proceeded to delete both the resource and the scripts folder.

tl;dr: I deleted both the resource and scripts folders and now I can't play the game

Reinstall, or delete those files and then verify integrity

you dont have to reinstall tf2. all you have to do is use gcf scape to get your resource/scripts folders back

I used a null movement script for scout, and some stabby spy scripts. What will happen to these now?

EDIT: I see that the .cfg folders have been cleared for all classes which is a bummer. Only question left, is the .cfg folder in common still the place where I should put my scripts? And will my brothers account have these scripts in them as well because now there is one common folder?

All you have to do is verify. It's reinstalling without the reinstalling.
