New Build Won't Stay On

I'm not sure if anyone can help me out here, or if anybody knows where they can redirect me to somewhere that can help, but I am essentially dumb-as-fuck and I can't get my new computer to stay on for more than 5 seconds.

I can't really explain what's happening, other than I followed a damn good tutorial on how to connect everything and it ended up not working for me, so I'm pretty disappointed.

I took a video as an example:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGeKYjdj2IY

(Sorry it's dark, lighting in that room is terrible, but you can see the computer turn on, and if you turn up your volume, you'll hear it start up as a computer usually would)

Specs are:

Power Supply: Corsair Gaming Series 2013 Edition GS 800W
Graphics: Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX660Ti OC 3GB
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K Quad-Core Processor 3.5 GHz 8 MB Cache
RAM: Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 8GB 600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance
HDD: Western Digital 1TB internal Hard Drive
SSD: SanDisk SDSSDX-120G-G25 Extreme 120GB SATA 6GB/s 7200rpm

If you can't help out at all, don't bother posting unless you can point me to another forum that would be able to help me. Thanks.

Is the switch in the back set to the wrong voltage?

make sure none of your front panel headers are plugged into the wrong slots.

you're probably missing a connection from the power supply to the motherboard

also, check your power button isn't stuck

grillzyou're probably missing a connection from the power supply to the motherboard

After everything shuts off, the motherboard appears to still have power going through it, as a few lights would suggest. Definitely not that.

And none of these have worked so far, but thanks for the suggestions.

maybe you shorted out the motherboard. unplug everything and plug them back and see if it still happens.

Try using a different RAM. I had an issue with a build not working, and swapping out ram seemed to resolve it. I guess the RAM I bought/had was burned out.

I forgot to post this yesterday but i doubt that you have done this within 12 minutes:

check all the steps

CHECK ALL THE STEPS and not just like "Nah, i'm sure if done it right", check every single thing.

It's almost guaranteed that at least one part out of psu, motherboard, RAM and CPU is either shorted out, broken (maybe related to that) or just not connected the right way otherwise you'd get those neat error beeps (unless you managed to forget to plug the system speaker in or broke it).

This looks like a CPU issue, without any beeps it isn't even posting so I would look at that first thing.

By 'look at it' I mean physically take it out, make sure you haven't damaged it and re-place the CPU back into the slot.

I am also surprised nobody has mentioned this. Those codes showing represent errors whilst loading on in your motherboard, maybe look them up in your motherboard book? :)

4F 36 69 ...they are what I mean by beeps.

If the CPU is fine, try one stick of RAM at a time...try GPU - take it out if needed and see what happens, just general troubleshooting.

I'm pretty sure that these are q-codes (page 48/49)
4F = DXE IPL is started
36 = CPU post-memory initialization
69 = System Agent DXE initialization is started

Everything that was or could ever be suggested is in the list

Yer wasn't certain of the name to be quite honest - beeps is the time I am from :)

Looking like more of a CPU problem...we will wait to see what he comes back with. Hopefully it's just something minor and a loose power cable to CPU (common mistake)
