Tf2 flashing glitch

So recently I have been having a problem in which certain textures in tf2 flash. They become extremely bright and then back to normal many times in the span of seconds. It prevents me from playing the game because it is so distracting. I will upload a video soon.

Has anyone else had this problem, and if so how did you fix it?

It's an issue with DX8. Change to DX9 and it will be fixed, or roll back your drivers to a much older version.

mat_bumpmap 1
mat_specular 0
?

you can also rollback your nvidia driver (which probably updated) and play in dx81 again

As mentioned above, it's due to the recent nvidia driver that was just released, you can find the old driver install on C://nvidia/drivers

Choose version "306.97".

Make sure you turn off "automatically check for updates" or it'll just update it again.

Nvidia Control Panel--> Help--> Updates--> Preferences

I'm running in dx8 and it only seems to flash textures when I have videos running in the background, which in my case is fixed by minimizing or switching tabs and then alt tabbing back into game and its solved till I restart tf2.

sorry for this 2 year old post necro, but is there any way of fixing this without rolling back to 3 year old drivers?
I have a laptop with a Nvidia 840m , and a integreted Intel graphics chip aswell...
