After a year of pandemic and chaos, CappingTV has released early details for The LAN Downunder 2021. This event is set to be the first TF2 LAN globally since Insomnia 65, in August 2019.

COVID-19 has finally cooled downunder. (photo by Ben "Bunneez" Acs)

LDU21 will take place on the 17th and 18th July, with the venue likely to remain at the Genesis Esports Centre, in Melbourne's CBD. Australia's coronavirus situation has improved meaning players from around the country are now able to travel interstate to attend the event. Precautions will be taken to follow the Australian Government's COVIDSafe regulations.

To ensure that the rest of the world are able to tune in, CappingTV will be providing all the action from their studio in Melbourne!

Further details regarding format and registrations will be available early May from their Discord.

Generally AUS is in a better place than the rest of the world in regards to COVID, and we are fully prepared to do whatever is needed to ensure that it's not an issue come LAN time.

PoptobobHopefully na teams will be allowed to go

This is an issue of Australia's travel restrictions, and probably wouldn't be allowed unfortunately.

I have it on good authority that he will be the ritual sacrifice this year to promise a good harvest of new players for the next farming season.
