New God Flow joins the show

With other Invite teams shuffling, consolidating, and reforming, the team New God Flow has been formed for ESEA Season 28's Invite division. The team consists of Invite veterans, featuring former members of Ascent, SVIFT NA, and Running with Scizors.

Heading the new team is paddie, formerly of Invite teams Ascent and froyotech. In ESEA Season 27, paddie departed Ascent after Week 8, being replaced by Ascent owner Ma3laa for the remaining duration of the Regular Season and for Playoffs.

Paddie returns to the Invite scene with a new squad (picture by Ness "uberchain" Delacroix and Jasmine "Jasbutts" Ho)

We talked to EvilMrMuffinz, who told us how the team ultimately formed:

Paddie started a new team after the season with him as scout, trying to make a strong team. I saw the team scrimming with six players and was surprised to be asked to try and play a few days later. Since two of the old 8K players were on the roster, I felt especially comfortable to join. Although I'm forlorn to have parted with Rekuso and Skye, two of my greatest teammates and closest TF2 friends, I'm excited to see what our at odds new teams are capable of achieving.

Back into the Invite action, paddie has teamed up with other Invite players left without a team from the offseason shuffle, with all the players having reached Invite playoffs in a previous season. However, whether this experiment will be able to hone in on the players’ individual skills and contest a Playoffs spot is still yet to be seen.

We reached out to paddie, who was able to give us a comment about his new team:

Grab your Fiji and start sipping. It's time for that New God Flow

The current roster of the newly formed New God Flow is now:

  • Scout: paddie
  • Scout: EvilMrMuffinz
  • Roamer: marmaduke
  • Pocket: sighguy
  • Demoman: dingo
  • Medic: phorofor

lets make a division called esea-f where we put froyotech alone so they can farm a check while the rest of the really good esea-i teams can make for an interesting season

these high-invite teams are really good and deserving of some success and its a major bummer that the highest they tend to go is second place

If they were "deserving" wouldn't they actually win? lol

thats true and im not going to discredit froyo's success or question the intuition of an invite player but i know for a fact that there's a difference between working hard and winning, even if im a negative-brain mongo open player

its one thing to grind tf2 and be good at it but winning or losing the important matches is a different challenge in and of itself, even in games other than tf2

no one here would argue that seagull is bad at videogames but his current owl team could barely put a jigsaw puzzle together if everything but the edges was already completed, and he vocally hates it there despite still playing with the team and working to improve

is the bottom line of a team important enough to ignore the efforts of the team's players?

sigh and paddie on the same team, want to see how that's gonna work out without them counter-calling each other.
