March 29, 2018

Copenhagen Games 2018, hosted by Esport United and slap.dk, begins on March 29th and runs to March 31st in Copenhagen, Denmark. If you haven't already, make sure to check out our Viewers Guide to get up to speed with the format and talent that will be covering the LAN for the whole weekend. With 15 teams revved up to compete in the Bella Center, let's preview the rosters who'll duke it out for a piece of the €3,000 prize pool.

Ascenchiladas

  • Scout: Thalash
  • Scout: Credu
  • Roamer: Rising
  • Pocket: adysky
  • Demoman: Kaidus
  • Medic: Ombrack

See also: Ascenchiladas forms for Copenhagen Games

Ascenchiladas stand out as obvious favourites for Copenhagen Games 2018, featuring players from Ascent.EU and Se7en, due to both teams being unable to field a full roster for the LAN. Aschenchiladas have also stood out as favourites with the addition Rising, marking his first LAN appearance in nearly four years since Insomnia52 in 2014.

For Ascent.EU’s players, Copenhagen Games 2018 will be Ombrack’s first international event as a player and will be Credu’s second major international event after representing Ascent.EU at Insomnia61 last August. Credu will also be reuniting with former teammate Adysky, who also played for Ascent.EU before leaving the team before Insomnia61.

Paired with Thalash and Kaidus, Ascenchiladas are one of the most terrifying and talented lineups attending Copenhagen Games and one of the fan favourites to win the LAN.

The Bus Crew

  • Scout: alba
  • Scout: Deox
  • Roamer: tobs
  • Pocket: Poison
  • Demoman: Yohn
  • Medic: Marten
  • Coach: Smirre

See also: The Bus Crew cruises on down to Copenhagen Games

The only complete Premiership roster to attend Copenhagen Games 2018, The Bus Crew stand out as one of the favourites in the tournament. Placing in 8th in the ETF2L Season 29 Premiership Regular Season, The Bus Crew eye Copenhagen Games 2018 as an opportunity to put their roster on the map and make an impact against the High and Premiership mix teams.

Along with the team’s full roster, The Bus Crew feature Smirre as their Coach for the event, who is currently playing Demoman for wer das liest ist doof in ETF2L Season 29 Premiership. Whether The Bus Crew’s Premiership synergy will pull them through to victory is uncertain, but the crew look forward to creating a name for themselves in Copenhagen and bring themselves back from their last place finish in ETF2L.

LEGO

  • Scout: zen
  • Scout: sorex
  • Roamer: dmoule
  • Pocket: Dr.Phil
  • Demoman: Domo
  • Medic: CondoM

See also: LEGO reassemble for Copenhagen Games

Awake from hibernation following a third place finish in ETF2L Premiership Season 28 Playoffs, LEGO return to the main scene on their home turf of Denmark. The last time LEGO answered the call of LAN was at DreamHack Winter 2015, where the team came in last place after falling to Publiclir.se in the first Lower Round.

In more recent times, the traditionally Danish team have proven themselves in recent seasons to be one of the top European Premiership teams. Their roster for LAN is basically untouched from Season 28, with the exception of Domo playing Demoman in place of Josh. Domo had originally played with LEGO in Season 27 and last attended Insomnia58 with 3/6. With Domo playing as a stand-in, Dr.Phil will be making his debut as Pocket Soldier for LEGO along with his fellow teammate dmoule, who will also be making his LAN debut in Copenhagen.

A fan favourite and a historically native team to Denmark, LEGO have proven themselves to be one of the strongest teams in Premiership and Copenhagen Games will be the ultimate test to see if they can translate that strength online to dominance on LAN in their home country.

MGE Chad

  • Scout: Pot8o
  • Scout: Maros
  • Roamer: Silentes
  • Pocket: Spudd
  • Demoman: alle
  • Medic: Morrow

See also: MGE Chad adds up for Copenhagen Games

With the collapse of SVIFT before ETF2L Season 29 Premiership, Silentes and Alle looked to build a new team to compete in Copenhagen. The resulting mix came to be known as MGE Chad, featuring some of the best Premiership (and Division 1) talent competing in ETF2L.

Along with the former members of SVIFT mentioned earlier, MGE Chad also houses Morrow and Spudd, the latter being one of the top Demoman in Europe formerly of Crowns Esports Club prestige. Along with his LAN return comes the reprisal of his role as Pocket Soldier for his team. Other Premiership alumni include Pot8o and Maros, the latter a former player for Arctic Foxes with Alle, which then went on to win ETF2L Premiership Season 27 Premiership after beating Se7en 3-1.

With a nutty roster of talented players throughout, MGE Chad could be the team to upset against the other favourites in Copenhagen this weekend.

Ora Elektro

  • Scout: Scruff
  • Scout: Nevo
  • Roamer: Azunis
  • Pocket: eskimo
  • Demoman: Eemes
  • Medic: Raptor

See also: Ora Elektro and OMNI5 Esports EU join forces for Copenhagen Games

A Premiership contender for several seasons, Ora Elektro have been unable to secure a spot in the ETF2L Premiership Division until Season 29, where they placed 7th in the Regular Season above The Bus Crew. While appearing dormant on the surface, Ora Elektro stand out as one of the possible sleeper teams in Copenhagen.

Tagging along with Ora Elektro is Raptor, who is currently playing with OMNI5 ESports EU in ETF2L Season 29 Premiership Playoffs. Along with him is eskimo, who is currently Ascent.EU’s “coach” in ETF2L.

With Eemes making a name for himself at Insomnia61 with No Input, Ora Elektro have quite the competition if they want to pull their way through upsets and solidify their position in Premiership.

LANIMALS

  • Scout: Bloodis
  • Scout: Swi
  • Roamer: Miju
  • Pocket: Pheaa
  • Demoman: Scyper
  • Medic: cider

Originally Minions in Pyjamas 2.0, LANIMALS reformed into a mix roster of new Premiership talent. Many of LANIMALS’s players, including Pheaa, Bloodis, Swi, and Scyper, are current or former Premiership players, making LANIMALS another Premiership mix roster set to take the Playoffs by storm. Swi specifically is currently playing in the ETF2L Season 29 Premiership Playoffs with OMNI5 ESports EU along with Raptor, who is also playing in Copenhagen.

With the dangerous combo of Swi and Scyper, LANIMALS are one of the top mix rosters competing in Denmark this weekend and one to watch.

Mours City Gang

  • Scout: Clem
  • Scout: Olgha
  • Roamer: Raf
  • Pocket: Glastry
  • Demoman: AlienSmiley
  • Medic: sanz

The last time we saw Mours City Gang was at Insomnia61, where they competed under the moniker of ★★★½, with Karnax and Dream. The All-French team made their way through the Open Groups undefeated before they were knocked to the lower bracket by Se7en. The Frenchies brushed past Deox Fan Club in the first Lower Round, but were knocked out by No Input in the second Lower Round, exiting Insomnia61 in 9-12th.

Online, the Frenchies have remained competitive primarily in ETF2L’s High division, now split between Division 1 and Division 2, of which the majority of Mours City Gang’s players are currently competing in. With a return to LAN, Mours City Gaming looks to jump back into the action and take on Premiership talent once again.

Mayonnaise Dealers

  • Scout: Bv
  • Scout: shadyr
  • Roamer: kosuke
  • Pocket: cinder
  • Demoman: Cnoz
  • Medic: dvs

Mayonnaise Dealers return to LAN once again after a 9th-12th place finish in Birmingham at Insomnia61. A mix team of High and Mid players, Mayonnaise Dealers, have made respectable placements before and shown their firepower and ability to stand up against other High mixes. While Mayonnaise Dealers have been unable to prove themselves up against Premiership mixes in past collisions, Copenhagen gives the team another opportunity to channel their power once again.

Of the team’s roster, Kosuke and dvs stand out as the players to watch this LAN. As Pocket Soldier, Kosuke is able to dish out considerable amounts of damage and contributed heavily to their team’s placement at Insomnia61. dvs goes into Copenhagen Games 2018 reprising their role as the second Israeli player to attend a major international TF2 LAN event. dvs previously briefly played for Foreskings in High during ETF2L Season 27.

With a decent mix of High and Mid talent, Mayonnaise Dealers are a team to watch and not one to be underestimated.

Ringo

  • Scout: Maxi
  • Scout: Vouri
  • Roamer: jun0
  • Pocket: oJ
  • Demoman: ECull
  • Medic: bum

The all-British roster of Ringo embark on a journey competing in a LAN outside of their homeland. Being native to the United Kingdom, Ringo had previously played at Insomnia61, where they placed 13th-16th after losing to Team CoolestMaster in the Lower Bracket. oJ has also had additional LAN experience at the Esport United Community Rumble, where he played with Minions in Pyjamas.

Outside of the Insomnia series, Ringo primarily comprises again of Mid-High talent in ETF2L, with the online team competing in Division 2A. Representing Her Majesty, whether Ringo will be able to stand their ground against the Danish and mix teams in Copenhagen is up for debate.

Team CoolestMaster

  • Scout: Nation
  • Scout: ekkelund
  • Roamer: Alfie
  • Pocket: Kryma
  • Demoman: Shaggy
  • Medic: Kuferl

Team CoolestMaster, primarily a friend team, have placed considerably well in ETF2L’s High division in previous seasons. Currently in Division 2B with online LEGO, Team CoolestMaster have stayed within the realm of semi-relevance after contesting Preminators in the ETF2L Season 27 Premiership Preseason Playoffs and placing 9th-12th at Insomnia61, a similar placement to many other teams competing at Copenhagen this weekend.

Team CoolestMaster have been able to hold their own up decently against brief encounters with Premiership teams in the past, but the test begins with the primarily mix rosters of Mid/High/Premiership talent in Copenhagen. With Nation and ekkelund, Team CoolestMaster look to be one of the most interesting teams to watch out for this LAN.

Gucci Gang

  • Scout: Fishyard
  • Scout: Traitor
  • Roamer: zeFrosty
  • Pocket: Beater
  • Demoman: Kraken
  • Medic: Lux
  • Coach: harry

Coming from the depths of Mid, Gucci Gang successfully made their way to playoffs, where they lost to Ringo 2 in the Quarter-Finals. Moving into LAN territory, the team has also brought in the addition of Beater, who is best known for his tenure within LEGO as the team’s Medic for LEGO in ETF2L Premiership Season 20 and Season 21. With a moderate amount of Mid power and a block of former Premiership talent, Gucci Gang might have enough to prove themselves on LAN.

Along with harry on Coach, Gucci Gang believe they can stand up against the High and Premiership competition that stand before them in Copenhagen.

ROW.BROS

  • Scout: Villdjack
  • Scout: Der_Milchmann
  • Roamer: Seal
  • Pocket: Toast
  • Demoman: yak
  • Medic: CeeJaey

ROW.BROS, or Professional Disney Fangirls as some of you may know them as, are one of the few teams competing in Copenhagen with a full ETF2L roster. After failing to qualify for Premiership in the ETF2L Season 29 Premiership Preseason Playoffs, ROW.BROS placed 7th in the ETF2L Season 29 Division 1 Regular Season.

While their achievements are not the crowning placements you’d see out of a Premiership team, ROW.BROS look to compete at Copenhagen and gain the expertise to give the Premiership division another attempt in Season 30.

36+5

  • Scout: Kodeeey
  • Scout: Liko
  • Roamer: Squirrel_BVC
  • Pocket: Streep36
  • Demoman: Mop
  • Medic: Via

Another LAN mix team formed by Streep36, 36+5 is a fun mix roster comprising of Low/Mid players and Via, a local Danish player. While not one of the top teams playing this week in Copenhagen, 36+5 will be providing close matches and competition for other Low/Mid mixes competing in Copenhagen.

Kazoo Kids

  • Scout: magikarp
  • Scout: Acecle
  • Roamer: Twisty
  • Pocket: Löwenzahn
  • Demoman: HumanCake
  • Medic: b_fisch

Kazoo Kids are a mix team featuring Low and Mid talent. The standout kid in Kazoo Kids crew is Acecle, who played in ETF2L Season 27 Mid, which his team were able to win. With a mix of Low/Mid players, Kazoo Kids embark on a quest to overtake the other similarly skilled mixes in Denmark.
