its more realistic to take advantage of peoples behavior rather than try and change them so you should encourage men to play support roles by giving carry characters played by women thicc buttz for men to follow behind

dot_fuck are you on about? because of the discrimination 42 didnt enter the mlb until he was 28. if he had 7 or 8 more seasons he would be the undisputable best 2nd baseman in history.

jackie is already considered by most to be better than everyone besides hornsby. if he played 23 years in the mlb like hornsby did, he would be the goat.

dude was hitting .300+ in deadball era

yeah hornsby's offensive capabilities for the era were stellar, and i can see the argument for lajoie and probably collins. I really think if jackie had the extra 8ish years to play in the mlb he would contend for the goat. At that point it gets to be kind of a Bo Jackson type of argument though.

to go back to the actual topic of this thread:

I think the most underrated factor in the gender gap between boys and girls in gaming, as someone in here alluded to, is the average age at which people started pc gaming/playing certain genres of games/playing competitively. it seems to me like a lot of female gamers started later/never had a good desktop pc/didn't really get into fps until later in life, at least on average.

anecdotally, I'd say the cisgender women I know in this game tend to be much much older on average than the guys, and much more likely to have a crap pc/laptop or have had one previously

From my experience, this trend applies to FPS, but not MMOs. I've seen a lot of females in WoW that didn't play healer. I thought: "is this really about aiming?", but on the other hand, you don't need aim in MOBAs.

Changemaybe you should not give a fuck what others think and play whatever champion you want to play

there's a pretty clear example of gender policing that reinforces this tho. Everyone just accepts girls being medic mains to the point where it getting brought up doesn't cause a debate. You either play medic or constantly get remeinded that all the other girls are playing medic while everyone you ever play with makes jokes about it being weird you aren't playing medic. Its easy to say "just play whatever" but only in a vacuum. The larger social structure of TF2 (& society) makes not conforming really noticeable
