computer crashes when starting a game

Hey. So yesterday my computer crashed when I started Overwatch up. It just instantly shut off. The power button on the tower was blinking on and off, and pressing it did nothing until I flipped the switch in the back (the switch on the PSU, I think?) to off and back on, it then started back up normally when I hit the power button in the front.

Today I have learned that this actually is somehow related to starting up a program, as my computer crashed once again as I started up Andromeda. It didn't just do it once however, it crashed three times in a row as I booted back up and attempted to keep playing the game. I then realized that before I had always booted up the game while alt-tabbed out in chrome or another window but was now booting the game up and letting the game sit in fullscreen as it started up. So, I started the game up and immediately tabbed out. Lo and behold, it didn't crash and worked totally fine.

What the fuck is causing these crashes and why are they only happening as I boot a game up? Is the graphics card or power supply at fault here? (I ran prime95 and that didn't crash the cpu so I don't think it would be that.)
