I bought the XL2411Z a couple months ago and I love it for fragging, 144hz is an amazing quality of life improvement that you won't regret. However if you care about good colors (you mention photoshop work) I'd strongly discourage you from getting this monitor. The colors are noticeably bad. You might have to pay a bit more for a monitor with great gaming performance and good color reproduction

razzmatazzI am aware that TN is more desirable if you are playing the game competitively

TN is in no way more desirable. It's simply cheaper.

razzmatazzwould you say the colors are that much more vibrant on an IPS?

This is not about vibrancy, it's about accuracy and colour gamut.

Colour gamut is a rabbit hole and you probably can't afford worrying a about it too much anyway so let's focus on accuracy for now.

The circles are where the colours should be, the coloured dots are what the monitor actually displayed.

And here's how it should look like:

I have an acer XB270H. Works great. You can get the freesync version too if you're on AMD.
