Alright, so since people seem to be cool with a seasonal ultiduo without prizes, I'll give it a go.
Season 3 is officially a thing, and it's ready for signups now. Kinda not going all out with this, and also going to use some newer maps outside of simply baloo. Figure if there's an actual seasonal league doing ultiduo, we may as well try to experiment with what maps work, and what maps don't.

The current S3 structure is 6 weeks, and 6 matches. Playoff is undecided, but ultimately depends on how many teams we get. Default time is Saturday at 8:00 PM Eastern. Depending on how this season goes, and how people react to the no prize thing, I might turn this into an actual seasonal structure moving forward, and maybe even introduce divisions to it. Also, there will be medals, as always.

Speaking of medals, still no major ETA on when they'll be live. Doing some final touches on them and will submit to workshop when it's done.

I'm not going to promote this very much, so its success depends entirely on the community. If you guys want seasonal ultiduo, sign up and have fun. This is really just a test to gauge its popularity.

http://tfcleague.com/bracket/ultiduo-season-3/
Edit: to join, create a team, and add it to the S3 bracket. This is a manual registration bracket.

Alright, so the maplist for 6v6 Season 2 is not yet set in stone. We may make some changes here and there depending on community feedback.

For starters, do you guys want us to include logjam or cardinal? Currently it's cardinal, though if there's demand for logjam, we can swap them around.

Season 2 6v6 is now using logjam, instead of cardinal.

Next question. Should we use prolands instead of badlands?

So, just a quick and general update for you guys regarding the status of the league.

Highlander needs 6 more teams before July 4th, or the entire season is going to be cancelled.
Sixes needs one more team before July 4th, or the season will be shortened down to 4 weeks.

If Highlander is cancelled, the pool will go to whichever format has the most teams. Currently that looks like it'll be Ultiduo.

Possible Prize Changes
If Highlander is cancelled, and Ultiduo has more teams registered by the deadline, then Ultiduo will have a prize pool of around $250. That will be split between first, second, and third place.

The pool will look like this.
1st. $200 ($100 per player)
2nd. $40 ($20 per player)
3rd. $10 ($5 per player)
If this happens we'll extend registration for Ultiduo again, so more teams have the chance of signing up with the new pool.

If 6v6 has more teams registered by the deadline, the prize pool will increase to $500. That will be split between first, second, and third place.

The pool will look like this.
1st. $360 ($60 per player)
2nd. $100 ($16.66 per player)
3rd. $40 ($6.66 per player)

You know what, to heck with it. I don't see highlander getting six more teams before July 4th, when all the more recent signups have been for 6's and ultiduo. So I'm calling it. Highlander isn't happening this season.

Currently Ultiduo has more teams, so I'm moving the prize pool over to Ultiduo.

1st. $200 ($100 per player)
2nd. $40 ($20 per player)
3rd. $10 ($5 per player)

I'm extending registration by two weeks as well so some more quality teams and players can come in for the pool.

I'm also going to test a community donation thing. So if you guys want to increase the prize pool, contact me in PM on here or @TF2League on Twitter. I'll also accept item donations, specifically keys, hats, and whatever else. Can't be a base weapon though, needs to have some kind of special quality to it. Will have a new account for trades.

edit: new registration deadline is July 27th. First match on July 29th. Figured I'd give everyone enough time to sign up and get their teams together.

Alright, so I finally got around to updating the original post. I was procrastinating on that for so damn long.

I'll likely edit it again soon, as it's kinda formatted poorly. I also want to include some more info in the OP, but for now, it's good enough.

Also, since people keep asking if we have a discord? Yes, TFCL has a discord. We've had one for a while, though I guess never really made it public or something.

Thanks man! I've been dedicating almost every single day of the past six months exclusively to TFCL and related projects. It's actually harming my health a bit, as I've been sleeping very poorly lately. But meh, I'm not complaining. I love what I'm doing, and really see a bright future for TF2 and TFCL. I'm putting everything I've got into it.

Update on league divisions

People keep asking me if TFCL will have divisions, and what they're going to be called. When IM got removed the questions basically doubled, so I'm just going to post this here to clear some things up. FAQ style!

Q. Will TFCL have divisions?
A. Yes, we will. Just need the teams to justify more than a single division.

Q. What are they going to be called?
A. S Rank, which is the highest form of competition in TFCL. This is comparable to Invite, and is where all of the top teams will go.
A Rank is the second highest division, and is similar to Intermediate.
B Rank is the Base Rank, most similar to Open. This is what everything is considered as of right now.
C Rank is the training division, intended for teams that are brand new to competitive Team Fortress 2. This is very similar to Iron, and is also what our coaching service will primarily focus on.

Q. When are they going to be out?
A. Divisions will be introduced as soon as we have enough teams to justify them.

Update regarding Ultiduo

To try and encourage more teams signing up, especially now that there's a prize pool involved with the first place prize being the same as last seasons, I'm going to extend things a bit.

Week 1 is now set for August 12th, with the registration deadline being August 9th. I'll update the site to reflect these changes, and also post an announcement to the steam group.

I'd like to make a bit of an idiot-proofing request: have all the seasons start at the same time. When you made that post about delaying the start of ultiduo, I had assumed that applied to 6s as well--accidentally missed the first two weeks of games. Whoops.

Yeah, everything was supposed to be in sync, but shit happened with the highlander stuff forcing me to delay Ultiduo a bit. The sixes thing wasn't affected by the prize pool change, so I just left that as it was.

After this season is fully finished I'll likely make everything else so it's synchronized. That was the intention this time, but, well. Yeah.

Do you have an email registered on TFCL? If you're a leader, you should receive match schedules by email every Wednesday night. Should avoid scheduling confusion in the future.

In case you guys missed the update notes, TFCL medals are now officially in game. I'll distribute them out shortly, just gotta collect all the steam ids first.
If you'd like for me to give you a medal right now, instead of waiting for the batch update, just link your TFCL profile and team experience here. Otherwise I should have everything out there within the next week or two.

There's been a number of European players participating in TFCL, which is why we offered EU as a region when creating your team. However, this was more of a stat tracking metric, and never actually altered team placement or matchups.

Even though TFCL is primarily a North American league, there's still over 100 teams with EU set as their region, out of over 500 teams in total. So, to hopefully create a fair playing environment for everyone, I've decided (with help from damon from bball.tf) to launch TFCL into Europe by the end of the year.

This will only cover our ultiduo and bball leagues, and there are no plans to launch our sixes league into other regions.
The EU support may also be slightly different from what we're offering in NA. North America is and will always be our homebase, so the primary prize pool will be NA based. European prizes should be far more sponsor-based, so expect physical or digital prizes and gear, like mice, keyboards, monitors, etc. Specific prize information will be released closer to the EU launch.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I managed to get a deal going with GameServers.com to include TFCL's configs and current season maps on every single one of their TF2 servers. If you rent a server from them, you can easily add all maps and cfg files from the Mods section of your control panel.
As time goes on I'll include more maps, and also provide updates to the configs directly on their panel. Will hopefully get all major 6's maps on there as well, whether they're used in TFCL or not.

https://puu.sh/xndUj/988647ee2e.png

I'm going to try to get similar stuff going with other major providers, but for now, GameServers.com is the only one that officially hosts our stuff.

edit:
Maps and Configs are now split into two separate "mods" so you can install them separately. This way whenever a new map is released, you won't have to lose any cfg edits you made.

Alright, so now that 2017 is nearly over, I want to clear up some confusion on the 2017 "LAN" we were going to be hosting.

1. The "TLAN" wasn't actually hosted by TFCL, but rather TFCL would end up powering the management side of things, so that Hidi (that actual host and organizer) could focus more on running it. TFCL would collect the fees, organize teams, and just make everything easier for Hidi, so she can do her thing. TFCL would even provide graphic design for TLAN, and create nametags, and bring in sponsors for the event. Ya know, so Hidi can focus on the actual organizing stuff, while I do the backend stuff.

Unfortunately, there were some issues with securing a venue, and I had to drop my support out of the event. I don't know how much I'm allowed to share, as some of it was fairly personal if I remember correctly. Though, I definitely hope to work with her again in the future, and help make TLAN a reality for her. However, even if I do end up supporting TLAN again, it'll only be as a "powered by" thing, not a "hosted by".

2. In regards to the actual TFCL 2018 LAN? Yes, it is still happening. I have a specific venue in mind, and want to make this LAN an international event for pretty much everybody that loves TF2. The current "ETA" is August 2018, and the venue in mind is located in Mississauga Ontario, Canada. It's near the Pearson International Airport, making for easy travel. I'm sure a few of you know which venue I'm talking about, though I won't name it right now just in case I can't secure a reservation for August 2018.

The LAN will be called UberJam 2018, and I'm hoping to make it just as big if not bigger than any other LAN in recent history. I know I (prematurely) announced a $20k prize pool over on Twitter, which as of right now is both accurate and inaccurate. I'm aiming for a $20k budget, not pool. So there won't be a $20k prize to be won. This might also completely change, and depends on how many sponsors and advertisers I can get on board in time for the LAN. I will also be doing a fundraiser (t-shirts) this winter to help fund everything, which was suggested by a close friend of mine, who is also going to be coming up with the design. I believe the design theme was "I Supported TF2 LAN", or something like that.

Anyway, that's about it for now, as far as LAN news goes.

Finally, I wanted to quickly get some community feedback on prize pools. As of right now, TFCL can host 6v6 at a similar pool level to ESEA Invite, but I'm not sure if I should actually do that. I want ESEA to strengthen its TF2 league, so a $4K pool in TFCL doesn't somehow rival ESEA's Invite pool. I honestly do not want ESEA to die, and I feel like if I were to launch a $4K pool in TFCL, I could end up really harming ESEA's TF2 league, which isn't my intention at all. Though, what do you guys think? Is it wise for me to introduce larger pools into TFCL, or do you think that will come with too many risks?

If you actually want to go anywhere you should drop everything and do whatever it takes to pull this event off smoothly. If it's in August you're competing with insomnia, with how mismanaged it was this year (as an NA player trying to attend) if you could have stuff set up months in advance it would be a really great event (and easier for international teams to get to) and it would show people you can actually run events and that it's worth supporting you in the long run

I believe the design theme was "I Supported TF2 LAN", or something like that.

Anyway, that's about it for now, as far as LAN news goes.

Yeah, I'm definitely putting everything I've got into UberJam. A lot of planning has gone into it already, but it's not even close to being fully planned out. I mean, aside from absolute basics, I've mostly been inquiring into things for the last couple of months. I've been calling and talking to people I know that have experience with this stuff, as quite frankly, I have zero experience with hosting events like this. Thankfully my family is pretty awesome, and they're helping me with the event planning. They also have connections, and are giving me access to a ton of helpful resources to hopefully make things go as smoothly as possible.

Right now, my main concern is the budget. I'm setting a goal of $20K, which given the location and venue in mind, is definitely a realistic goal. It's just a matter of getting the initial reservation stuff going, which is what I hope the t-shirt fundraiser can help with. If I need to pay out of my own pocket, I shouldn't be hosting an event like this at all. So ideally, I want to make the event pay for itself through fundraisers, advertisers, and sponsors.

Honestly, I've got a long ways to go, and while August might appear to be far off to most people, it really isn't when it comes to events. I just want this to be done right, and I want TF2 to have an actual LAN year after year, supported by an actual league.

I'm also trying to make travel to and from the venue cheaper. I've been toying with the idea of hosting a custom 6v6 tournament in TFCL, where the winning team gets free travel to UberJam. I'd host one tournament per region, or as many as I can fit into the overall budget. Not sure how this would work out though, or if it's even a good idea. Kinda depends on the budget.
I'm also looking into the possibility of having discounted travel via Uber from the venue to the hotel. Haven't reached out to them quite yet, but with a name like UberJam, Uber would be the perfect sponsor to have.

Having a I series lan and your Lan close together in dates is bad idea. Maybe like summer might be more doable, or early 2019. I just know that when it comes to your Lan or I series, alot of euros are going to pick the I series Lan over yours, because it's cheaper then flying to America. Rewind had has the perfect time frame (January) it's just far away from I series that it's doable. So when making dates for your Lan you should consider other potential lans too.

Medals are out
Medals for Ultiduo Alpha, Ultiduo S2, Sixes Alpha are now out and in the wild. If you didn't get one but think you should have, post to our discord and we'll get it fixed asap.
Ultiduo Season 3 and Sixes Season 2 will go out later in the month, after prizing has been finalized.

LAN Update
I decided to move the lan back to November 2018, thanks to some advice from others on here. Hopefully this doesn't conflict with any other major tournaments.

wolsneSidular, I think your passion for the community is really admirable. You're constantly trying to find new ways to get involved in sub communities, participating on many teams, creating your own league, and now talking about hosting a LAN event. I and many others surely appreciate your interest in these ventures, however I feel like from the inception of TFCL the results have been rather lack-luster due to a loss of focus on specific projects. The branding behind TFCL is great and one that is easily distinguishable, but I feel like the execution of the projects you undertake are poorly planned/organized. I don't think anyone would disagree with wanting another NA based LAN event as long as it falls within a reasonable time-frame and is easily accessible for a decent population of TF2 players, but I definitely share sentiments with what saam said above. My best advice would be to avoid trying to spread yourself too thin and try to see one project through to success rather than starting up another before the previous one has even gotten off the ground.

As a suggestion it might pay off to see about bandwagoning onto another smaller LAN event and get into talks with their planning team about having a TF2 based event under their event title and you could self sign/brand it using TFCL and still raise money via crowd funding.

What other projects am I running, if you don't mind me asking? TFCL is basically the whole thing, as far as TF2 stuff goes.

End of Reality is now hosting our maps and configs via their control panel. I've also gone ahead and added a Featured Hosts page to TFCL, as i'm going to be bringing in more providers in the future.
https://tfcleague.com/about/featured-hosts/

Also, every provider listed as a Featured Host will receive updated configs and maps, so you can just install them at any time from their control panels.

Edit: forgot to mention, medals should be going out today.

Basically this - http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=39042

Summary: ultiduo, highlander, and sixes are all open for registration, with ultiduo having a $300 prize pool in North America, and sixes having a pool of $150. We've also officially expanded to Europe, starting with Ultiduo Season 5. So European players can now (finally) register and play in a local bracket, rather than being forced to play against North American players, on North American servers.

TFCL has partnered with cpu.tf, and will be using the cpu.tf network of servers to power all future seasons of TFCL, starting later this year. We've also brought the cpu.tf developer onboard as the new lead dev for TFCL.

I've also gone ahead and cleaned up the OP. Added pretty pictures, cause pretty pictures are awesome.

Our team really wanted to play TFCL this season, especially with ESEA changing the map selection and grinding one map every week not being as important, but the default days are incredibly inconvenient. Our schedule (and I think the schedule of most teams, though I don't have any data) is literally Sunday-Thursday, taking Friday and Saturday off. I know the match days are open to negotiation, but the risk of having a team try to force a fri/sat match is just too high to feel comfortable signing up over UGC and/or ESEA.

If we were to change our default scheduling to a weekday, we'd effectively end up competing for the same space that two far older and larger leagues have laid claim to. With our default times being on a weekend, teams can basically play in their existing league of choice, while still competing in TFCL without risking any major match conflicts.
