I'll be attending since I plan to be in California towards the second half of January anyhow. Trying to make a team with some cool people and possibly LFP.

ill play literally any class on a team with cool people and if there are any car pools from san diego add me on steam because im 90% sure ill need a ride but im willing to pay for gas/lunch for people in the car. i live in mira mesa so its not out of the way if you are going up the 15 or 805.

For LAX, b4nny recommended using this service: http://shuttletolax.com/

An UBER from LAX to the Holiday Inn will run a little over $50 each way, that is not factoring in surge rates. Even split 3 ways thats kinda pricey. Please keep in mind too that in southern California, random traffic happens. It is entirely possible to get stuck for 1.5 hours getting down here from LA.

What is the cost of the Holiday Inn per night (without any special deals for the LAN). On the internet the one in Santa Ana approximately 1.5k away is around £150 (1.2 exchange rate to $180 roughly) for 3 nights over the weekend, booking in advanced. Of course, there are other alternatives, I seen a guest house nearby as well but no website for it, I wonder what the cost of B&B's and other low cost accommodations are locally.

Shuttletolax.com tells me a 6 passenger shuttle would cost approx £80 for a return between 5 or 6 people (Brits may arrive together if we're all booking the dirt cheap Norwegian Air flight from Gatwick to arrive at 16:10 local time, departing LAX around 5.30 and taking approximately 2 hours to get there accounting for traffic). That is around £13.33 each for both ways, not terrible.

I also looked at travelling on the Metro using Metro Trip Planner, whilst it isn't suitable for going to and from the Airport, after the event I want to visit some places, it looks fairly affordable, would people say this is a reliable website for information?

I assume as we're in a built up area lots of places to go including cheap supermarkets.

Will we be able to go to the Scientology Church across the road and mock them?

Yeah without the deal it's just standard rates. The deal should be coming soon, it's worth to hang tight for that.

I also looked at travelling on the Metro using Metro Trip Planner, whilst it isn't suitable for going to and from the Airport, after the event I want to visit some places, it looks fairly affordable, would people say this is a reliable website for information?

I haven't used the metro here and idk anyone that does. Without a car, my main mode of transport is uber. just don't let anyone bully you into tipping them. uber is the only thing here we don't tip for.

I assume as we're in a built up area lots of places to go including cheap supermarkets.

While it is a highly populous area, groceries for some reason are pricey here, especially compared to the UK. You can probably find some decentish places in Santa Ana but it may take hunting. There are tons of places to eat and drink within a 2 minute walking radius of the venue, however. If you guys are ever in need of recommendations feel free to come find me/ ask people who work at the arena.

They will often come around and pass out fliers. They're actually quite lovely.

Thanks for making this. I've added it to the main post. Everyone should post in there if you are planning to go, especially if you are LFT.

samifaceFor LAX, b4nny recommended using this service: http://shuttletolax.com/

For a single rider from LAX this is what I've always used. They are shared ride vans so they will not be a direct route, but it costs $45 for a round trip, which is pretty much the best rate I've been able to find.

Stay tuned for some more big announcements very soon!

So for those who are going, I think the plan is, if I'm not mistaken, to visit Disney on Monday the 23rd. Im guessing it'll be an all day thing so I'm planning on checking out of my hotel room on Tuesday. That way all day Monday will be devoted to having fun and not worrying about keeping track of my stuff and trying to hurry to a flight. Anyone have anything to add/suggest?

Oh and everyone down for a group get-together for a dinner on Friday evening?

PLEASE CHECK OUT THE SPREADSHEET AGAIN, IT HAS BEEN UPDATED.

Some info I found out on which may help some of you gamers, but to keep in mind, Holiday Inn does not have a Disneyland shuttle. They do, however, offer shuttling to and from John Wayne Airport.

Disneyland, per day, is 100$ for an entry ticket keep in mind.

One option I have found is having 7 person vans which would pick us up at the hotel and take us to Disney, then later on in the day take us back. Those vans cost 200$ round trip. Roughly 30$ per person.
Another option would be to get a 24-26 person shuttle bus to do the same thing. Cost on that per person would be roughly the same so long as we have 24-26 people going to Disney.

If I'm not mistaken, it would cost roughly the same per individual to get say a private ride over as it would be to do this group deal. So it may just be worth it. SAVE SOME MONEY.

Want another way to save a good bit of cash? Well in addition to the discount that SoCal LAN will be receiving for Holiday Inn rates, you can also share rooms with each other and get roll away beds for extra guests, costing only an additional 10$ per night.

I am unsure at the moment for the going rates of rooms at the Santa Ana Holiday Inn, but considering we will have a discount code, and just adding on 10$ for additional beds, you could Easily could fit 4 people comfortably in one room for less than 20$ per person per night. Just something to keep in mind and work out among yourselves.

Hopefully some of this info will help people who may not have the financial means to do it all. Best of luck!

CHECK IN ON THE SPREADSHEET AS IT HAS BEEN UPDATED, THANK YOU.

For those in the fence about going due to pricing, check your local flights! Just found an awesome deal, a nonstop round trip flight from NYC to LAX for 279$ with wifi.

Edit: As for the South Eastern US. There's flights from Florida to SoCal from as low as 197$ round trip. Just take a look. I tend to use google flights as it usually has organized flights from most all airlines.

I'll do a right up soon for anyone wanting a complete layout for pricing to see what it would cost to go to LAN.

They're probably waiting on a production team announcement or something.
