Luck's Rollout and Jump Practice Config

Hi, I'm Luck, been playing TF2 for a few years and lurking pretty hard in the scene, but I've been making configs for myself and some buddies for a while, and this is one that I've found to be really useful for new players to practice soldier and demo rollouts offline.

Google Drive: *REMOVED: Updated version below*

Inside you'll find a readme and two files that need to be placed into your Team Fortress 2/tf/configs folder, the readme tells you how to set up custom binds and such as well.

Features: Heath regen and regen toggle (this is a bit buggy, sometimes it works fine and other times it doesn't, if anyone with more scripting knowledge can help me out with that, that would be pretty cool.)

teleport to custom location with a "set location" key, bound to whatever you prefer, used for quickly resetting rollouts, locations can be changed on the fly with just another location save. works perfectly. (Not originally made by me, but I couldn't find the author since I got the original config from a friend who downloaded it from somewhere.)

sets map to unlimited time to allow for long jump sessions.

can be used on any map, stock or custom, learn to rollout on your favorite minecraft trade server map!

(EXTRA NOTE: breaks jump map teleports, not 100% sure why, but I can assume it has something to do with interfering teleport commands, however, you shouldn't really be using this config on jump maps anyway.)

I tried to make this as easy as possible to use, but any extra suggestions are very appreciated!

EDIT: just realized I didn't put this in the right thread, sorry about that.

Update Version 1.1

Fixes/changes

Added instant respawn
Completely revamped regen system, now expands upon last version's "quick and dirty" workaround.

Known Issues

Because new regen system is based off of mouse 1 input, Demo sticky jumping doesn't instantly regen hp or ammo. you'll need to click M1 after your jump to regen things again. Currently working on fixing this.

Occasionally will not open starting gates for blue on PL maps, usually a quick "retry" in console can fix this. Not a priority, though something I'll work on if people ask for it to be fixed.

Still breaks jump and surf map's teleports, not going to be working on this since I don't think it's needed.

(If you'd like any features added to the config, or know a way to make the config better, you're more than welcome to shoot me a message here, or just leave a comment here.)

Thanks,

pretty sure this sort of config has already existed for quite some time and there are quite a few jumpers who have made scripts that don't mess up jump/surf maps (for teleporting to do speedruns/trickjumps) and have some more useful functions (oatmeal made this back in 2014 for example)
as far as rollouts are concerned tr_rollout was made ~3 years ago but hasn't been updated much (if at all) since then
i think its also possible to get rid of the resupply sound (may or may not be a thing depending on which regen method you use) and iirc jumpers have figured out how to get rid of the soldier/demoman voicelines from when they take damage from rocket/sticky jumping
that's not to say that this isn't a useful thing to work on but this topic has been explored in quite a bit of depth already

there are better ways to do regen
from a quick google search i found this (if you're already using wait commands you may as well go all out)
alternatively you can just rebind keys you press often to impulse 101 as well as their regular function

bind mouse1 "+attack; impulse 101"
bind mouse2 "+attack2; impulse 101"

Not the best for rollouts, where knowing HP spent is important, but if you want regen just use something like this, instead of tying it to mouse input.

/Personal portable regen for offline jumping!
sv_cheats 1

wait 5;ent_fire !self addoutput "targetname player_me"
wait 5;ent_fire func_regenerate addoutput "classname func_regenerate_temp"
wait 5;ent_fire info_target addoutput "classname info_target_temp"

wait 10;give info_target
wait 10;give func_regenerate

wait 20;ent_fire info_target addoutput "targetname mytarget"
wait 20;ent_fire func_regenerate addoutput "StartDisabled 1"
wait 20;ent_fire func_regenerate addoutput "mins -100 -100 -100"
wait 20;ent_fire func_regenerate addoutput "maxs 100 100 100"
wait 30;ent_fire func_regenerate addoutput "solid 2"
wait 30;ent_fire func_regenerate addoutput "spawnflags 1"

wait 30;ent_fire info_target setparent player_me
wait 33;ent_fire func_regenerate setparent mytarget
wait 35;ent_fire func_regenerate enable

Basically creates a resupply locker around the player so you have constant regen without having to press any button at all.

Edit: http://www.mediafire.com/download/tte0551kt79mdmh/No+Pain+Sounds.rar Can also use this to remove pain/regenerate sounds if you wish

ent_fire func_regenerate disable

I actually used this sort of script previously (actually, that might be exactly the same script), and it was pretty buggy, only worked half the time on my end. I ended up switching over to my impulse binds due to them being more consistent with what I was trying to accomplish here.

Actually different guys, I've seen luxor around but I don't know much about him, I'm just a steel scrub that messes with configs sometimes. Most people just call me Luck.

I'd never seen that config before, but yeah, it seems way better and more in depth than mine. Thanks for the info! Hopefully I can learn a bit from his config so I can get better at this.

My original config used that code for the regen(Thanks for providing that by the way, I've really been wanting to give credit to whoever made the original code), but something on my end caused it to be finicky, so I ended up switching it out with my current script that actually does what your second suggestion was, although I added a bit to allow for it to be disabled.

I actually used a config very similar to this when I first started out! As long as it works for you, I don't see any issue with using something bare bones, I just kind of got bored one day and started making a more complex config.

Thanks guys! I'm kind of just messing with this stuff for fun, and learning along the way. With any luck, maybe I can start making things other people haven't already perfected ;_; people will find useful!
