i've only really been around since the end of esea season 20, before that i'm pretty lost with the exceptions of some players and teams that hold pretty formidable legacies like classic mixup. i see it everywhere about people saying that a majority of the teams in invite today wouldn't be able to put a round on teams of the past.

if anyone has some good examples of intense casts, povs, etc. that could show this well i would appreciate it.
also could someone explain to me why the skill level has supposedly dropped? is it because of no lan or just a mass of players leaving at once?

thanks in advance ;>

One I could think of is yz50. He'd be an upgrade to arguably any team, past or present. Combine that with demo jesus b4nny and shade, every game was a highlight reel.

Kinda new but the game at i55 when nerdrage knock froyo down to the lower bracket. Also something a bit older, the grand final at i40 what was epsilon vs dignitas. If i remember right the i40 game was pretty tense. Only problem with that game is it might be a bit too old for a vod to be available, maybe on vanilla tv?

Edit: oh shit there is also i43 infused vs TCM in the lower bracket final.

I wouldn't be so hard on newer invite types - on a technical level they are undoubtedly more skilled than some of the players from yesteryear. The main difference is the general *level* of competition since the old "High-" and mid+ tiers of players have suffered tremendous attrition over the last 2 years or so.

But this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BBLJ7lROqQ you can also find the stv's for this if you google esea season 10 LAN + tf2 + stv.
