minute 51.

What do you think of b4nny's opinion? Is he right? I'd like to start a conversation here in the forums about b4nny's subject.

Agree'd. When faceit comes along, we really need to show our support and gratitude for their support of comp TF2 by playing in their PUG's and Tournaments.

Quite possibly.

That said, if you really want to know how to bring new players to comp you should ask the new players, or run it through their perspective. They're the ones who will really know what brings in new players, right?

Imo there's also no substitute for Valve integration/communication; so, information on comp/getting to comp located in the actual game, maybe a bit like the twitch streams on the homepage.

The only time people ever try anything new is if the current thing everyone is using dies. TF2Center only became a thing because TF2Lobby was literally dead. TF2Stadium is completely ignored basically (I've tried to play on it SOOOO many times) even though mass amounts of people complain about TF2Center. Everyone stuck with IRC pugs for the longest time, etc.

It's been like this since I joined the scene back in late 2009/early 2010, so yeah, I don't think he's wrong. I think b4nny is just talking about an underlying problem though in general, which is that competitive TF2 enjoys its bubbles for everything. You can even just look at the resources for it, there's a billion resources spread out everywhere, rather than people working together to collate it all into one place. It's a complete struggle for people to tap knowledge because that knowledge almost seems intentionally spread every random place you could imagine. There is no one easy spot to read high quality guides, or watch gammes, or learn rollouts, or find demos, or anything. If you wanna learn rollouts there's rollout.tf but if you want to learn how to get into comp theres playcomp.tf but if you want to learn how to play a class you gotta find a youtube video or a steam guide and if you want to watch a demo you gotta go fishing for it because there's no real easy way to find demos. People like to complain about whatever format they don't play rather than unify and just play. The list goes on and on, really.

FACEIT was quite active for first couple of days and for one-two cups, but now it's kinda dead. But if they make it an open beta or closed beta with a high number of uses (not 100 every time) code, I'm sure it'd be more active. Right now there just aren't enough players.

That and opening the beta to regions other than EU would be nice.
