Issues with RX 480

So i just purchased an RX 480 to replace my ageing R9 270x and so far i haven't had a very good experience with this card. There is pretty consistent random flickering (5-10 times a minute) on the desktop and especially when watching youtube. When i launch TF2 there is a random chance i will get the error 'Out Of Range' and the screen goes black and i can't do anything and have to go into sleep mode and log in again, my applications are still running like normal.

But so far the worst part was when i wanted to play mm with some friends and put dx90 in my launch in options, i started TF2 and it was black for quite a few seconds and then went an even darker shade of black and it just restarted my computer and changed my desktop resolution from 1920 x 1080 to 1280 x 720 (my TF2 resolution) and changed my refresh rate from 144hz to 60hz, i reverted them back then tried to launch TF2 again and it restarted my computer again.

Right now i've just launched TF2 with dx81 and it works fine which is really strange, i have no idea why any of this is happening cause i made sure i had the latest Radeon drivers installed beforehand and the display port cable plugged in properly. As this card is so new i haven't found anything helpful on google, any help is greatly appreciated.

have you tried removing all previous drivers fully using Display Driver Uninstaller? check it's seated properly too and that you've got the power cables plugged in fully

I uninstalled my drivers then re-installed the latest one and still got the same issues, after some googling it seems people are getting similar issues, albeit mostly the flickering when on 144hz. I did another driver uninstall and re-install but this time set my monitor refresh rate to 120hz and so far haven't seen any flickering or issues launching steam games, hopefully this lasts!

I had similar problems with my GT 740 on two monitors. But now I unplugged one of them and it works normally.

Only using one monitor, i've had it on all day and haven't had any issues with it, must be a problem with 144hz.

I really hope they fix it soon ):

Good to see you've fixed your problems. When this thread popped up I was going to say just swap it for a 1060 if you don't plan to sli, but that wasn't very helpful and I didn't want to be rude. :p
