Civ VI was confirmed today. As much as I'm always excited for another Sid Meier game, I'm not as excited as I was a couple years ago (or last year? I don't remember) when Beyond Earth was announced, since it was supposed to be the spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri which is by far one of my all-time favourite games. Sadly, although it had a few new features that weren't terrible and a strange new skin, it was pretty much another Civ V game so I'm not going to pre-order VI or anything like I did with BE. Anyone hyped for VI?

I'm just going to assume it will be bad until they release an expansion, just like every other fairly recent Civ game. They usually run like a bucking horse as well, so if you needed a reason not to pre-order video games, there are two big ones for this game.

Here's an overview: http://www.polygon.com/features/2016/5/11/11653620/civilization-6-release-date-preview

Seems pretty good, but I'd definitely not preorder. But I am in the "(almost) never preorder" camp, so...

I kinda get the aesthetic feeling of a colorful diorama, like add some miniature blur and it'd feel like you're looking at a tabletop re-enactment. I like it

Is it the meme of him being a warmonger/general asshole? If so, that's been in the games forever

gandhi is usually peaceful, but due to a gamebug he has a stupidly high chance of nuking everything when provoked

it was a bug in the first game, but in the later games it's definitely intended

his usenuke prob is high but his unitprob is low.

because he produces so little military he doesn't really use nukes more than high unitprob low usenuke prob leaders

Here to hoping modders have an easier time civ 4 is better than civ 5 since it offers way better and enhanced gameplay mods like caveman2cosmos and fall from heaven. and in civ5 the one unti per tile pathing + roads cost gold means at some point you get units losin g thee turns ciz tjey path of walking off the road and it's pretty annoying. Also i hope they crank up the AI and its abilities though, instead of just rewarding free bonus units/happiness/ research and build speed like they did in tyhe previous .

the reason the AI sucks that they told setsuil in the betatest on IV was that the game has so many variables that it would be nearly impossible to make the computer as good as players without difficulty bonuses

what seperates skill in civ is the little tiny bonuses that you can incur in the first ~100 or so turns and that was too hard to program, at least 12 years ago.

The way the game handles is clunky at times but at the very least I'm enjoying the peacetime tasks in the game so far. The redone political system and the addition of districts and revamping workers works fairy well without it feeling like a gimmick. The only thing underwhelming is the Civs themselves. It feels like some Civs are just plain better than others (so far Rome, Kongo, and China seem very strong compared to like France).

Overall it's fun, especially for a base Civ game. I hope it can only go up from here like Civ 5.

edit: id also like to add that barbarians are also REALLY FUCKING STRONG in this game. Had to fight off 10 units from 1 camp like really?
