Hello lads,

so I decided to do my own frag movie. Everything went fine and I tried to render it 4fun because I wanted to see how it will look. But my frags are lagging af, I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 11 and I watched Beater's vid about his editing. I tried to do the same options, but still

Here are my options:

Thanks for answers (I'm new in editing, if you want see how my frag video is lagging i'll post it later)

Are you lagging in game when you play? It will show in the recording of demos.

yeah, it'll probably be a few hundred MB after you encode it and then it will play smoothly. that's the final step before uploading to youtube

What people are giving solutions to but haven't explained (if you care to know) is that the uncompressed video you created was so big that your computer can't read all the frames fast enough off your hard drive to play it smoothly. The video itself is likely smooth, but your computer (along with most everyone elses) can't read that much data that fast so you need to compress the video into a smaller file.

If you compress it using handbrake (or any other tool for that matter, however handbrake checks both boxes for ease of use and functionality) you'll have no problems playing it back and then uploading to Youtube.

You can also render it to a compressed format out of vegas right away. Tbh, if you're not doing any postproduction, I don't see why you'd even bother rendering uncompressed and then encoding with handbrake. Vegas' export options should be solid and if you're gonna upload to youtube, it'll be compressed either way.

Exactly, encoding it in something like Handbrake makes the file so much smaller. For example before encoding a video was at 100gb and after it was just under 1gb.

you could also just encode it in mp4 1080p 60fps but turn the bitrate up to somewhere around 16Mb and it'll be perfectly fine. Also if you upload that vid to youtube then youtube will do the encoding for you so it won't lag
