My tf2 has been acting up today.
For whatever reason everything appears to be in slow motion even on sv_pure 2 servers.
Would anyone know a fix?

edit: When I put -default in launch options it still doesn't work

Slow motion how? As in the animations are all slow? Or movement and projectiles too? How would that even work on a multiplayer server

I have no idea. Everything seems to be in slow motion. Other players told me that it looked as if I had 1000 ping

edit: I also tried re installing and verifying tf2 just to be sure. Didn't work either.
At this point I'm suspecting it might be a hardware issue of some sort like the cpu overheating, because ik it does overheat from time to time. It's never caused this though

it's not an fps/ping issue.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3HF9L1wYhE yes, yes ik this is muselk...cringes, but I feel like this video best displays what it looks like on my side. Except the way he did it is not how it's working on mine. Because mine is showing slow motion even in sv_pure 2 and sv_cheats 0

maybe your latent superpowers have awoken and you're able to slow down time
time to hit as many airshots as u can before they go dormant again...

Okay so I fixed it but I'm not sure exactly what I did to fix it lol.
-I re-installed steam.
-turned shadows off
-cleaned pc,....it was so dirty that it looked like a dirty caveman who just got fucked in the ass by an old dusty pimp, farted in my pc.
-re-started pc and increased fan speed with msi afterburner

doesn't this happen when you have a lot of packet loss and an unstable connection?

If you load a local map, does it still happen?

My PC has a tendency to boot with this as the default. Everything loads super slowly, but nothing is out of the ordinary from spec readings and task manager. I usually just restart, and it happened after cleaning my pc as well.

Slow motion is honestly the best way to describe it. Everything renders perfectly normal, not a single flaw, but it's just at half pace.
