evlTV is now actively looking to recruit new casters and production staff! We're looking for both experienced casters and new casters who are willing to work on improving while receiving mentoring from established casters.
In addition to casting events like the Battle Royale, we also cover Highlander, 6s, 4s, and Ultiduo for both UGC and ESEA.

One of the biggest new goals for evlTV this coming year is to compensate some of our casters and production staff. This in part due to a new budget provided by our parent company evlgaming.com, as well as additional support from our new, caster inspired, T-shirt campaign. The T-shirt campaign was created to help reward our casters, while allowing them to have an awesome piece of merch with their own name and personal design!

While the casting community has been relatively self reliant, we truly believe that they deserve to be compensated for their commitment and efforts, and that overall this can only lead to an increase in quality and exposure for the TF2 e-sports scene.

We've just launched two new caster shirt designs for Atwas and Deer which you can find below, proof that we are working to not only build our brand but also reward our staff. Proceeds from both shirts benefit Atwas and Deer, and we plan to add more casters into this opportunity!

While we have received a production budget, it is not large enough to allow all of our staff to have an earning role. Initially our budget will be sent to our production team (camera / streamers) and our top casting talent. Top casting talent are people who are regularly available for events and who are consistently showing improvement. In addition, the T-Shirt campaigns will be made available to casters after they have completed at least 5 season casts.

New casters should expect to spend a few hours per week casting on their own, outside of evlTV, and working with their mentor. Camera / Production staff should also spend a few hours each week to improve their craft. If this is not something that you can continuously support (and we understand not everyone has time) we don't advise signing up.

Those who submit an application should expect to be contacted within a few days. All potential applicants should be comfortable completing a mumble interview with evl staff.

I still want to learn how to camera, even if I can only do it at LANs.

The opportunity to have mentors by your side and also get your own shirt that you can make profits off of as a caster is basically unprecedented. This is really a fantastic thing for anybody who thinks they want to try casting, and I'd highly recommend it. (Especially with matchmaking on the way!)

Camera guys are definitely high priority! If you want to learn how to host the stream and keep the frags on camera, please consider applying!

Casts usually take 1 1/2 hours a week, playoffs are closer to 2 1/2 or even 3 hours per week.

You would also work with a mentor probably 1 hour per week starting off, less and less as time goes by.

I've actually always wanted to be a caster, but I have zero prior experience besides sitting in spectate in a pub with a friend and just saying what's happening.

I'm planning on using any Christmas money I get on a nice quality microphone for Voice Acting and vocal music, I could probably use it for casting to if you guys are still looking for volunteers by that point.

That said, anybody know good ways to practice?

Since we mostly have been covering Highlander on Monday nights (9:30--10:XX PM EST), and ESEA (10:30--12:XX PM EST), the times are late in the night.

We would love to cast games from our lovely friends from across the pond. The only current issue (that I am aware of as I type this) is that we need someone who could do camera on that side of the world, of course we'd also need some awesome casting talent too. If anyone from the EU has the ability or wants to try cam then please apply! The sooner we have an established camera person from the EU the sooner evlTV-EU can be a thing :3.
