So i recently got a new router with dual band but for some reason my network adapter wont find the 5ghz wifi.
I tried downloading the drivers manually from the chipset manufactures website without any result. Also tried connecting to the 5GHz through SSID but no luck. And yes the 5ghz is enabled in the router.

Try going through device manager to your adapter and mess with different settings.

5GHz wireless network has much shorter range than 2.4. Maybe you're out of range?
Where are you trying to find the 5GHz? Through windows? or through Asus software?

Obvious question but are you sure that your network interface supports 5GHz?

Does it show up if you're right next to the router?
Have you tried inSSIDer?

I looked through both. I guess i might be out of range, the router is downstairs and my room is right above the router.

LuneAnd yes the 5ghz is enabled in the router.

So same as always, never assume.
I assumed since you checked it on the router you checked it on the adapter as well.

Well at least it's working now.

Yeah embarrassing mistake :(. I just thought it was both 2.4ghz and 5ghz by default since my friend got the exact same model and he didn't need to change anything.
