Steam Music in comparison to other music players?

So what is your thoughts about steam music and if you guys think if it will ever replace the other music players out there
Also how does it affect in game fps compared to other players?

I think its nice cuz its simple and if you use steam overlay its quite easy to access ( at least with my steam skin)
Only got some simple complains like sometimes the music gets stuck at the end and it doesn't automatically change to the next some, also one of my songs goes into slow motion when I play it through steam music , doesn't happen when I open with VLC or with my mobile so I assume its because of the player.

Another thing I would like to see implemented is a way to not separate my songs by Albums, only does it in some songs tho even if I remove all the song properties and info

If you guys think it sucks or know a better one tell me , looking for the most simple (but still functional) music player

There is no real need to switch to it imo. I've been using Winamp since I got my first PC and it has always been fine, and I'm sure most people would rather just stick with their current media player which undoubtedly has more features

You can't go wrong with foobar or spotify services that they offer.

UI is annoying to use, and it doesn't make it easy to figure out how to use. I never use it, and keep it muted in favour of Spotify, iTunes, VLC, or good ol' WMP.

i mainly just use steam music player because of how easy it is for my to just shift tab and see my music and not alt tab and have a black screen for 5 years due to me running dx8

indecencyhave a black screen for 5 years due to me running dx8

i dont think dx8 inherently causes longer alt tab times

but foobar is great and has really good sound quality, no real reason to use anything else in my experience

If you keep -dxlevel in launch options, don't be suprised.

UI is frustrating. I'll just stick with MusicBee and Winamp.

My computer is like an old mans penis, functional but not great. For this reason I use pandora on my phone, two separate pairs of earphones, so I listen to music in one ear and tf2 in the other.

It's not bad, but it doesn't work with keyboard media keys. To get it to work you have to go in big picture > settings > music and check media keys to enable them. They'll work when not in BP too then.

Personally I use foobar, functional and has customisable ui.

I actually do this on my laptop because even though theres a ton of shitty stuff associated, it doubles my fps.

DoctorMiggyyoutube is best music player

The thing that bothers me about using YouTube for music (aside from the fact that it uses unnecessary bandwidth to stream video when all I need is audio) is that you can only have 200 videos in a playlist. If I want their mix thing then I can just use Spotify, and if I want to stream my music library from anywhere I can just use Google Play Music. YouTube isn't that terrible, it just has no place in my music consumption.

Youtube will use a load of data over the course of a 200 song playlist. Spotify is a better choice or keep a music directory like me and use foobar 2k.

Using yt can also affect ping

Why do people use dedicated music players over VLC? I've been thinking about it but I don't really know why I should bother
