Last night [/flag]Complexity beat [/flag]Pandemic 5-2 on cp_badlands in the CEVO-P upper bracket playoff finals. After interviewing Pandemic's carnage prior to the match, it's only fair that I interview Complexity's oPlaiD:

[iq]Hello oPlaiD. I interviewed carnage yesterday and he said that Pandemic would win but that it would be a close match. How did your team prepare for last night's match and did you expect such a decisive score?[/iq]

[ia]We played quite a bit the past two days to get ready considering we had to use hubris at medic, playing an important class he's not accustomed to at all with a team not used to him doing it. During the match he filled in admirably, so there's no complaints there. Pandemic is very tough on cp_badlands, so we weren't expecting to dominate them, but they had a similar medic situation since their starter, glue, had computer problems, so they had to throw in a non-medic, too, and that probably gave us a slight advantage. We weren't expecting a "decisive score" but we always expect to win.[/ia]

[iq]Who do you think will make it through to the finals to play Complexity and why? If Pandemic, do you think having glue will make a big difference for them?[/iq]

[ia]It seems likely that Pandemic will make it through, but we would not be at all surprised to see Dignitas in that position. They are strong on cpgranary and will have a good chance to beat Dynamic, although Dynamic puts a lot of effort into preparation and counter-strats so they can't be written off, either. Dignitas is also the best cpbadlands team in Europe (and Dynamic is very good on it, as well), so Pandemic will have a tough time against whoever they face in the lower bracket. So really, we're not expecting any particular opponent; all three of them have a chance to make it through.

Playing Glue will certainly make a difference for Pandemic, especially since our medic situation may not be resolved, but will it be enough in a best of three series? Who knows.[/ia]

[iq]I heard a rumor that TheFragile has left your team. Is this true? If so, what does that mean for your lineup?[/iq]

[ia]Like I said earlier, our medic situation is currently unresolved. I'd like to refrain from saying more until we make an official announcement.[/ia]

[iq]Since I asked carnage this same question, I think it's best to ask you as well. What do you think of the idea of adding an intermediate CEVO-Main division for TF2?[/iq]

[ia]It's a good idea as long as they can get enough teams for it. I'm really not sure how many they'd get to sign up, but there is a large skill gap between the top eight or so teams and the next mid level after that and that mid level and the lower level teams, so it makes sense to get them similar competition. A European-style league system where there are many divisions (more than three) and the top few teams move up and bottom few teams move down after each season would be ideal, but CEVO and Americans in general are not set up for something like that, so I doubt it'd happen.[/ia]

[iq]Do you have anything else you would like to add?[/iq]

[ia]We'll be looking forward to battling whoever we meet in the finals; we have a budding rivalry with Pandemic, especially after the way our last two matches ended, and Dignitas has always been our biggest European rival considering how we faced them in the Major Series Season II finals and in the CEVO playoffs, so it'd be fun to face either of them.[/ia]

[iq]Thanks a ton.[/iq]
