Sterling silver, top looks black but is just actually a mirror finish, I'm actually not THAT pleased with the results, but it was made of a chunk of old silver I had laying around, I kinda butched the sides and did it purely guessing how far I should file, normally I'd make a line in the metal and file accordingly (which gives very straight results) but made this while quite drunk haha, still I love the design and will likely make another that has perfect sides.

Too bad this thread isn't really active, anyway here's something I've been working on for the past week, It was very cool to do.
It all started with this design I had for a simple sharp ring with the Wu-tang clan logo on it

I then ordered a 3d print of castable resin and it arrived after a few days

I then took my 3d print to a local silver specialist and they casted it for me out of sterling silver

I then worked on it with files and high grit sanding paper untill there was nothing left visible from the casting

Yeah likely, I made this in my own time but I'm soon getting some pretty cool projects with my college courses.

Wow, now I want to do something like that. I have access to a 3D printer and can pretty easily make the 3D model, but need to figure out if I can find a silversmith who will cast that thing.

Also I could have casted it myself but it takes a lot of time and for one ring it's more expensive.
I also forgot to say I used oxydbeize to make the lower part black, and the flex shaft for polishing it and cleaning the dust out of the lower area.

Does photography count as art?
Took this tonight, been struggling to get it to look right, but I'm happy enough with it. On one of my monitors it looks too blue, while the other one looks fine, so I'm not sure how to feel about it.
