You need a Z270 mobo for overclocking.
Don't get a low profile cooler, it doesn't make any sense.
Read up on monitor features.

There's so many parts still being released until summer, it's not worth making an exact partlist already since it will change.

Yeah you're absolutely right. The list is honesty more of a placeholder just so I'm at least on the right track for a build this summer. I appreciate the help though, thanks again.

Well prices will obviously change, but the general direction is right.

#2253
You linked DDR4.

#2254
Is that an existing build?
Optimize for what?
Budget?

Nice, what's the final partlist?

Regarding the caption there was one thing that suddenly came to mind, no idea why:
"Let's see who's right with the light!"
The easiest way to figure out if everything is connected is to try and turn it on.

I see you ended up getting a more reasonable B350 mobo.
Well, have fun with the pc, RGB isn't exactly required for that.
Also good luck with the OC, may you reach those sweet 4 GHz.

So this is what I've come up with for my first build. All I'm asking for is if there are any minor things that I could change that would save me a couple bucks for not very much loss in performance. I'm also not super knowledgeable about building PCs so if there is anything glaringly wrong feel free to point it out.

Eh I don't really need 16GB of RAM. As long as I'm able to play TF2 and Serious Sam I'm happy. And I don't use any photo/video editing software so I though be safe.

i3 should be as fast in TF2, no idea about Serious Sam though.
2x4GB is fine, a mobo with 4 slots means you can still upgrade should you need to.
Get an SSD. If you're fine with 250 or 500GB go with SSD only.
470 isn't much slower than a 480, price difference depends on sales though, not sure if you think the savings are worth it.
Not a fan of the SPEC-02 but I don't really care. There's lots of options though.
450W is plenty.

got a feeling that setsul is gonna ask when do you want to build? If you say over summer, he is gonna say "wait for vega"

I was going to post something yesterday but then I started waiting for more edits with creative spellings of "in advance".

Are you in the US?
Monitor included in the budget?
Fps/settings you're going for?

#2270
Competition mostly.
Not sure what mid price is.
Power efficiency will ideally be close. If you expect AMD to jump from far less efficient to more efficient while using a less efficient process you're most likely going to be dissapointed.

Also Vega is an architecture. There's different chips. Vega 10, the "big Vega" (~500mm²) comes first. Unless AMD massively fucks up cards based on that are going to fill the range from 1080 Ti to Titan Xp (nVidia still refusing to use numbers for Titans, it's getting ridiculous). No one knows yet when Vega 11, the smaller one, as in somewhere around the 1070/1080 will turn up. Then there's also Vega 20, but let's not go there.

Hi,

Hopefully a simple question. Will the coolermaster-master liquid 240 cpu cooler offer the same or similar performance in cooling terms as the corsair h100 for an I5 7600k OC'd at 4.6.

I'm struggling to find any comparable data (probably because the h100 is at the end of its production life)

Thanks in advance guys!

My friend said I could have his old 290

I'm building a computer and my dads helping. His colleague is an enthusiast and he helped out a bit. I don't think its the best value for money but it has what I want-fast SSD and enough to run light games like tf2, csgo and terraria.

I have no idea what the budget is but I don't think it should be much more $1380 and I already have a monitor, mouse and mousepad so I just need a keyboard and I have some that I am thinking about.

There is also a deal for an i5-7600k, 16 gigs of ram and a mobo. Would that be better in the long term?

----------- EDIT ------------

I looked a bit more and for a few more dollars I get the i5-7600k so im sold on the bundle, I just need to convince my dad
