EDIT::: HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP

I get this "Disconnect: Client timed out" error rather often since the latest update. I did some googling, and unsync'd steam cloud, and then I deleted clientregistry.blog.

No dice. Any ideas?

I've had it for as long as I can remember. Connect to server, load map, time out after 5-60 seconds, reconnect, play. Don't really think there's a fix for it.

There is obviously a fix though, I just haven't figured out what it is. This shit didn't happen for weeks until I broke it again. And if I play on DX9, it doesn't happen at all. Fuck dx 9 though.

If it's from lawena, then it's probably some arbitrary convar which isn't in an FPS config, but is in lawena's config. Does the game freeze, or do you lose connection with the whole "Auto disconnect in X seconds", or just a sudden disconnect?

I join a server, after 5-60 seconds (time varies a lot) it freezes and does the auto disconnect. I type retry in console it says Steam validation invalid or something like that. Type retry a second time and iit connects no problem. It only happens on pubs (I.e. servers without the ready up dialog)

Oh, and i play in DX 9. It has been happening to me in every Source game since I can remember.

I've been getting timed out every 10 to 15 minutes or so in DX9 for about 2 weeks now from a certain patch. It's really annoying.

Granted all I have to do is put "retry" in console to get back in, but it's seriously a pain when it comes to critical moments in pugs or scrims.

Delete everything in your steam folder besides steam.exe, steam.dll, and your SteamApps folder, then restart your computer, then start steam. That should fix it if it's a steam problem.

Done that already, also reinstalled TF2 multiple times

It might be an internet problem, have you tried the usual fixes for that?

Restarted router, reset router, tried a different wireless card, tried an Ethernet cable. All multiple times each.

Try putting steam.exe in high priority.
