in NA bagel is by now the most popular and well-liked koth, but what elements make it so good? Is it the fast cap allowing teams to convert a cap off of even minor advantages like damage and positioning? is it the fast spawns leading to a more aggressive sack-heavy style? is it the discrete separation into houses making spamming the point a more committed option for soldiers while also isolating fights?
or is it just that product and clearcut have more obvious flaws that bagel doesnt have?

i mean the number itself "doesnt matter" in the sense that it could function with invite being 500 elo or 10000 but if low inv players deflated to relatively lower than main players just because they played in harder pugs then yeah that's a problem with the system
an important component though is that in the case of ties or close games, the elos of each team should get closer to converging. the big issue is that the self correcting process is really annoying because the site just arbitrarily assigns some number and these inflated or deflated elos fuck with the predictions until enough pugs have been played to iron them out, until which point teams will have close games or wins that they lose elo for, since elo predicts not just a win but winning margins. a winning team losing elo is by design

i think heavy to mid sucks ass to play against and is annoying and boring BUT i dont think it really increases your chance of winning the mid and isnt fun to play either
may main motivation for asking is actually the disciplinary action which i think could be a really cool unlock for soldiers to enable more aggression and creative bombs but its just banned because of this stupid heavy to mid boogeyman
the idea of a heavy being run on a midfight has been the 6s whitelist boogeyman for years and is the main motivation for a handful of weapon bans. with some of these weapons being allowed in rgl (steak sandvich, gru) and heavy to mid kind of never happening, it makes you wonder if this is just being slept on and not used when it should be, or if its actually just a bad strat?
